Betty "Meme" Younce

August 25, 1934 — July 8, 2025

Toledo, Ohio

Betty Louise Younce, affectionately known as "Meme," passed away on July 8, 2025, in Lambertville, Michigan, leaving behind an enduring legacy of love, resilience, and kindness. Born in Sugar Grove, North Carolina, on August 25, 1934, she brightened the lives of all who crossed her path with her gentle spirit and unwavering strength.

Betty's early education was completed at Bethel High School, laying the foundation for a life rich in various experiences and ventures. Throughout her life, Betty embraced her work with a dedication that reflected her character. She began her career as an elevator operator at Sears & Roebucks, transitioning to managerial roles at Spiegel's and S & H Greenstamps, before embarking on her own venture with B & D Cleaning Service. Her time as a merchandiser at Nabisco showcased her meticulous nature, as she skillfully stocked shelves with an artistry that was uniquely her own. The pride she took in her work was palpable and served as a testament to her commitment to always giving her best.

A woman of many talents, Betty deeply enjoyed spending time outdoors, soaking up the sun, and visiting the beach. She found joy in the little things, often indulging in word puzzles that stimulated her mind. Betty was not only a remarkable worker but also a gentle and kind soul who touched the hearts of all who knew her. The indelible mark left by Betty in the hearts of her loved ones is immeasurable. Despite facing unimaginable hardships, she embodied resilience and grace, overcoming many challenges in her life.

Betty's unwavering love for her family was the cornerstone of her existence. She is survived by her devoted children, Debbie (Tony) Packo and Bill (Leslie) Younce, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Danielle, Preston, Alana, Brady, and Hunter. Her legacy continues with her great-grandchildren—Nevaeh, Brenton, Izzy, Jaliyah, and Lilly—each of whom loved her dearly. Betty also leaves behind her siblings, Julia and Allen (Gail), along with a host of extended family and friends who were fortunate enough to know and love this remarkable woman.

While Betty will be profoundly missed, she is now reunited with her beloved parents, Roscoe and Mamie Millsaps, and her siblings, Arvel, Rachel, and Kathryn.
