Bessie Louise Hocker

Mrs. Bessie Louise Hocker was born Bessie Louise Fleming to her father, Mr. Ross Fleming, and to her mother, Mrs. Georgie Quarles Fleming, on July 11, 1927, in the town of Oak Grove, Kentucky. After attending elementary school, she was educated at Burt High School in Clarksville, Tennessee. After graduation, she attended Tennessee State University and transferred to the University of Toledo, from which she graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. Her profession was elementary education, focusing on home economics and remedial reading and writing. Her future husband, Mr. Armand Hocker, also attended the University of Toledo as a student in the fields of law and civil engineering from which he graduated in the same time. They were married in Toledo, Ohio on December 22, 1951. Their son and only child, Armand Ross Hocker, was born on August 24, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio. Following a long illness, Mr. Armand Hocker died in Toledo, Ohio on July 9, 2005. Mrs. Bessie Louise Hocker became ill after a fall in December, 2024. Following a series of falls in March, 2025, with several hospitalizations, she died in the Kingston Care Center of Sylvania, Ohio, on March 11, 2026. She was laid to rest with her husband privately at Willow Cemetery in Oregon, Ohio.
