Beatriz Villamayor Pastrana

Beatriz “Betty” Villamayor Pastrana, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, educator, and beloved member of the Toledo community, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on February 6, 1932, in Lopez, Quezon, Philippines.

Betty was known for her gentle spirit, warm heart, and genuine kindness toward everyone she met. Her life was centered on family, love, and quiet strength. Guided by her Catholic faith, she regularly attended Mass and supported her parish in thoughtful, meaningful ways that reflected her values.

A lifelong educator, Betty earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and spent forty years teaching in the Philippines, where she inspired generations of students with patience, grace, and encouragement. In 1992, Betty moved to the United States with her husband, Sergio, to be with their daughter, Maria Melissa, to support their family in the Philippines, contributing to the next generation’s ability to grow and prosper.

She found joy in simple pleasures—reading, playing the piano, and sharing what she had with others. She was the kind of grandmother who welcomed you with open arms and offered everything in the kitchen the moment you walked in. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love. Betty spoke with pride and admiration for her children and grandchildren, and her legacy is deeply rooted in the values she passed on to her family.

She is survived by her three younger brothers, Rosendo, Carlito, and Don; her children, Maritess Pastrana, Maria Melissa (Digno) Buno, Jun (Katrina) Pastrana, and Misael (Florinda) Pastrana. She was a proud grandmother to Melanie (Ivan Palacios) Buno and Dana Buno; Lorenzo and Gabriel Pastrana; and Gio, Carlos, Bea, Sofia, Jaime, and Miasel Pastrana—each of whom brought her immeasurable joy and pride.

She also found great delight in her great-grandson, Tomas Palacios, and was lovingly awaiting the arrival of another great-granddaughter, baby Palacios.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sergio; her parents, Matilde and Briccio Villamayor; her three sisters, and one sister-in-law.

Family and friends are invited to honor her life during visitation on June 8, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Liturgical service at 3:00 PM, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614.

Betty will be remembered for her quiet grace, her unwavering love for her family, and the gentle impact she made on everyone she met. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
