Barbara A. Pasquinelli, affectionately known as Barb, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at Maumee Point, surrounded by her loving family. Born Barbara Smith on October 8, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, she led a life marked by warmth, generosity, and deep connection to her community.
Barb was a cherished member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where her faith and devotion were enduring pillars throughout her life. She was well known for her many talents and interests that brought joy to those around her. Gardening was a cherished pastime, where she found peace tending to her plants and flowers. She was also an exceptional baker, especially renowned for her homemade bread, which she delighted in sharing with family, friends, and neighbors. Sewing and quilting were further expressions of her creative spirit, resulting in beautiful handmade quilts treasured by those lucky enough to receive them. Barb’s warm personality shone through in her love of meeting new people, forging friendships wherever she went.
Barb’s legacy lives on through her devoted family. She is survived by her children: Katheryne Putman, Kelly (Randy) Navarro, Patti (David) Hasbrouck, Melissa (Clint) Hinze, and Tony (Heidi) Pasquinelli. Her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart, include Kerri, Kevin, Laura, Andrea, Rick, Lindsey, Ben, Alyssa, Jacob, Hannah, Noah, Seth, and Caleb. She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her love and care. Barb’s siblings Judy, Jan, and Robin also survive her, providing a close circle of family bonds.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alleen Wannemacher; her beloved husband, Richard Henry Pasquinelli; and her son-in-law, Jamie Putman.
A Memorial Gathering to honor and celebrate Barb’s remarkable life will be held on May 7, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Toledo, located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, Ohio 43614. Following this, a Mass will be celebrated on May 8, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 104 West Broadway Street, Maumee, Ohio 43537, where friends and family will gather to pay their respects.
A special “Thank you” to the nursing staff and the aids at Maumee Point for the care they gave Barb and the compassion they gave to Barb’s family during this difficult time.
Barbara A. Pasquinelli’s life was a testament to love, faith, and kindness. Her genuine warmth, creative spirit, and commitment to family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of compassion and community that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to share in her life.
