Barbara (Krolak) Rowan, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Barbara passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, in Temperance, Michigan, at the age of 87. Born on August 7, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, Barbara lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a remarkable spirit that touched all who knew her.
A dedicated data entry professional, Barbara worked at AP Parts for over ten years, contributing her expertise with a steadfast commitment. Yet, her career was just one aspect of a multifaceted life. Education was important to her, having attended Blessed Sacrament School and Whitmer High School, where she was known for her warm personality and infectious smile.
Barbara's cooking brought the family together during reunions and get-togethers, as she was the quintessential mom in her Polish neighborhood. Beyond the kitchen, her nurturing soul shone brightly in her roles as a caregiver, especially for her husband, William. She shared over 60 years of marriage—a testament to their deep and abiding love, celebrated on September 7, 1957.
Her vibrant character made her a favorite among the neighborhood kids. Her generosity extended to volunteering regularly with her cherished church and school. Barbara was well-known for her ability to form connections, creating lasting friendships that enriched her life and in turn enriched theirs.
An avid pool player, she enjoyed many evenings at the VFW, Marteds and the Frolic Bars alongside her husband, demonstrating her love for fun and camaraderie. Barbara also cherished travels to Florida and Las Vegas, as well as precious moments spent at the family cottage in Port Clinton on Lake Erie, where laughter and joy permeated every gathering.
Barbara is survived by her loving children, Kelly (Rick) Haskins, Tammy Harwell, and William (Dani) Rowan, her siblings William (Marilyn) Krolak and her brother-in-law Robert (Rose) Rowan and sister-in-law Jody (Buzz) Pershing. She took great pride in her grandchildren: Alisha (Nick) Espitia, Amy (Andy) Shade, Ashly (Jamie) Haskins, Brook (Jimmy) Foti, Ian (Stephani) Harwell; step-grandson Aaron (Joanna) Harwell; as well as her great-grandkids: Payton, Mason, Harlow, Lily, Zachary, Iris, Quentin, and step-great-grandchildren Joshua and Olivia. Barbara also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, and a wide circle of friends who were fortunate to have shared moments of joy and companionship with her.
She joins in eternal rest with her beloved husband, William Rowan, her parents William and Yolanda Krolak, her son-in-law Cliff Harwell, her step-grandson Christopher Harwell, and her brothers and sisters-in-law.
In her passing, Barbara leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and family devotion. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in the hearts of all who were graced by her presence.
