Barbara A. (Hill) Banks, passed away peacefully at her home on April 7, 2026. Born on July 4, 1937, in Welch, West Virginia, Barbara lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and an infectious joy that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Barbara began her professional journey in the hotel industry, demonstrating a natural warmth and dedication that would later define her career transition into the medical field. As a nurse, she was deeply committed to her patients, offering care with a compassionate heart and a smile that could light up any room. Her years of service were characterized not only by her expertise but by a genuine love for those she cared for, making a lasting impact on many lives. She retired with pride, having devoted herself fully to the well-being of others.
Beyond her career, Barbara found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid gardener, often spending peaceful hours nurturing her yard and gardens. Her love for home improvement was evident in the thoughtful remodeling projects she undertook, making her living space a true reflection of her creative spirit. Perhaps most dear to her heart were her dogs, who held a central place in her world. Her furry companions, Kodi and Oliver, alongside her beloved grand dogs Kaiden and Lexi, were sources of comfort and joy throughout her life.
Barbara’s family was the cornerstone of her happiness. She leaves behind her daughter, Tiauanna Tucker, and her son, John Banks, and his wife, Ginnie. She was a cherished grandmother to Brandon Banks and his wife Andrea, Justin Banks and his wife Ann, as well as Lacey Kozak. Her legacy continues through her many great-grandchildren—Celina, Trent, Mackenzie, Noah, Aaron, Chloe, Sophie, Lilian, Evelyn, Cameron, Jackson, and Milo—and six great-great-grandchildren, whose lives she deeply enriched.
She was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Earl and Marjorie Hill, who laid the foundation for the kind and generous woman she became.
Barbara A. Banks will be remembered for her unwavering love, her nurturing spirit, and the brightness she brought to every life she touched. Her presence will be sorely missed but forever treasured by her family, friends, and all who were privileged to know her.
