Arthur Lance McGough

Arthur Lance McGough, age 59, was born on February 23, 1966, in Toledo, OH. Lance passed unexpectedly in his home on January 9, 2026. Lance was preceded in death by his biological father Arthur L. McGough “Peter”, his dad Melvin D. Harrison “Pappy”, and his brother Kipp McGough.

Lance attended Jesup W Scott high school where he graduated in 1984. He enrolled in the United States Navy in 1986 and completed 4 years of service where he received recognition for his leadership skills by the Admiral. Lance was employed with Ford Motor Company, Daimler Chrysler, and Mobis North America.

Lance’s love for basketball matched his skills on the court. He played so hard that he would come home with his foot wrapped up because he had sprung his boney ankles. His favorite basketball player was Kobe Bryant. Not only was Lance great at basketball, but he also had skills in the kitchen that were unmatched. Lance loved to grill and feed others.

Lance was a loving father, son, brother, cousin, nephew, and friend. He loved his family! He had advice for everyone, no matter who you were, he offered advice even if you didn’t ask for it. He was a genuine person, if he loved you, he loved you.

Lance is survived by his mother Vera M. Harrison, Step mother Edith McGough, Grandmother Ella Scurles, his oldest daughters Bria Avant (Eddie) and LaMika Price, his girlfriend Miesha Jones, their children Auh’sum McGough, Ari’yanna McGough, Ayann McGough, A’Zya McGough, step children Makiah Jones and Malayna Jones, grandchildren Ari Evans, Jaylen Hawkins, Julian McGough, and Jrue Avant, oldest sister Rhonda McGough, brother Mel V. Harrison (Betty), baby sister Charlotte S. Wells (Michael), God brother Eric Huckaby, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive guests Friday, January 23, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer SW Chapel 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH (419-381-1900). Funeral services will begin at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
