Anthony "Tony" Lee Sumner

Anthony "Tony" Lee Sumner, 56, of Toledo, Ohio was called to his heavenly home on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Mercy Health Perrysburg Hospital. He was born on September 03,1968 in Lexington, KY to the late Joyce and Robert Lee Sumner. Tony was an avid Kentucky basketball fan and he visited his home state every chance he could as it brought him so much peace and happiness. He loved spending time with family and telling stories of growing up in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky, "downhome" as he called it, to anyone who would listen. Above all else, Tony loved God the most. He loved talking about the bible to anyone who brought it up. Tony had a beautiful heart of gold, he never met a stranger and never let anyone struggle alone.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joyce Sumner (Harris) and Robert Sumner; father, Raymond Adkins; brother, Robert Ray Sumner; and his precious little unborn child. Surviving are his daughters, Sarah (Jordan) Hull and Rachel (Steve) Davidson both of Indiana and their mother, Rose Sumner; sisters, Michelle (Brett) Smith of Toledo and Stephanie (Brian) Stull of Whitehouse, Ohio; life partner, Becky Fondessy of Holland, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews and precious grandchildren whom he loved with every fiber of his being as they too loved him endlessly.

Services will be held Saturday June 21, 2025 at Persimmon Fork Church of God in Jesus Name, 1214 Persimmon Fork Road, Yeaddiss, KY 41777. Burial will follow at Harris Cemetery in Yeaddiss, KY. 

Tony did not have life insurance and any donations can be made through Newcomer Funeral Home or Gofundme.
