Listen to Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Allen Burghardt who left this world on May 29, 2026, at the age of 50. For more than 20 years, he worked as an ASE-certified mechanic, spending the majority of his career with Mytee Automotive, where he built lasting friendships, earned the respect of coworkers and customers, and took great pride in his craft. He earned his GED through determination and hard work, a reflection of the perseverance that defined his life.

Allen could fix almost anything with an engine, but what truly made him special was the way he showed up for the people he loved. In his free time, he found peace on the water with a fishing pole in his hand. Whether he was casting a line, spending time with family, or helping a friend, he appreciated life’s simple moments and the people who shared them.He was the kind of man who worked hard, loved deeply, and never hesitated to put his family first. He was known for his loyalty, sense of humor, stubborn determination, and the ability to make people feel welcome. To many, he was a friend. To some, a mentor. To his family, he was irreplaceable.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Albert and Wanda Burghardt and Lee and Luella Reneau; his parents, Robert R. Burghardt and Barbara A. Reneau-Grycza; and his brother, Robert Armstrong. He leaves behind his loving wife, Kati, who shared eight wonderful years by his side and five years of marriage filled with love, laughter, challenges, adventures, and unwavering support. Together they built a life rooted in family, resilience, and devotion. Allen also survived by his brothers, Brian Burghardt and Robert Burghardt (Dawn); his children, Kyle (Annie), Kyle Lee; along with his bonus children, whom he loved and cared for as his own, Christa (Russell), Kylee, Leah, and Jalen. A proud grandfather, he cherished every moment spent with Makenna, Ezekiel, Elaine, Ryker, and Gunner. He loved sharing stories, making memories, and watching the next generation carry on the family legacy. Nothing brought him more pride than watching his family grow and thrive.

Allen was also a beloved uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Throughout his life, he served as a role model to countless people. One individual who held a special place in his heart was Andy Wozniakowski, whose accomplishments brought him tremendous pride and joy.His greatest legacy will not be measured by the years he spent turning wrenches or the vehicles he repaired, but by the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the family he treasured above all else.Though our hearts are broken by his loss, we find comfort in knowing that his love, strength, wisdom, and laughter will remain with us forever. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later.  Details will be published as they become available.
