Alice Faye Scott

Alice Faye Scott was a woman of remarkable strength, love, and devotion to her family. Her greatest pride and life's purpose were her children, whom she loved unconditionally and supported through every challenge and triumph. She taught them the values of resilience, kindness, and perseverance through her own example.

Her journey began in Guntown, Mississippi on November 16, 1948, the baby girl of James and Addie B Smith. She didn’t get to fully experience life in the deep south. When she was 3 years old, her father made an executive decision to head north and settled in Toledo, Ohio. If you know, you know.

She was raised in a God fearing, God serving and Holy ghost filled household. Her spiritual roots would come to guide and pull her through some of life’s daunting challenges. To walk a mile in her shoes took unshackled faith, and she stepped.

She stepped across the graduation stage of Whitney Vocation High School. She stepped into nursing school. She stepped into motherhood. She stepped into ministry and became Evangelist Faye. She stepped into a nursing career at St. Vincent Medical Center that spanned over 35 years, and was known as an excellent nurse and one who would go against policy to pray with patients as they transitioned.

Though she may no longer be here with us, her spirit lives on in the lives of her children and in the countless memories they shared together. They will live out her lesson on the importance of loving one another and sticking together no matter what… “We All We Got”.

She will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, her strength in difficult times, and the love that held her family together.

She was preceded in death by Steven Turner Jr. (Son), Stevona Sandridge (Granddaughter), James Noble and Addie B Smith (Parents), and Kevin Fikes (Brother).

Those here to carry her legacy forward with love and gratitude are her beloved children, James Lamont (Rohnnie) Turner, Kellie (Kareem) Cleveland, and David (Doreka) Gans. Her grandchildren, Steven III, Tyisha (Alvin), Lacquina, Kabril, Beverly (Justin), Israel, Imani, Jamar, Charity, Avery, Alexis, and Amir. Her great-grandchildren, Saniyah, Brooklyn, Sean, Ja’layia, Lagarious, Latanya, Steven IV, and Elaine. Her siblings, Sonny (Evangelist Esther) Smith and Bobby (Pastor Patricia) Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
