Alan Christie, born December 29, 1952, in Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, in Sylvania, Ohio. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion, hard work, and unwavering love for those closest to him.
Alan’s life was defined by his dedication to family and commitment to his work. He devoted over 40 years to the automotive industry, where his steadfast work ethic earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Always hardworking and reliable, Alan’s contributions to his field reflected his strong sense of purpose and integrity.
Alan was cherished as a loving husband by his wife of 47 years, Stephanie, who stood by his side throughout life’s joys and challenges. He was a devoted father to his daughter Jennifer and son Matt (Kathryn), always present and supportive, guiding them with wisdom, warmth, and honesty. Alan took great pride in his role as a grandfather to Beckett and Callan, and he found endless joy in spending time with his grandchildren, cheering them on in their pursuits and sharing in their accomplishments. He also leaves behind his siblings: his sisters, Linda (Dick) Southby and Margaret (Dave) Kaser, and his brother, James Christie, who continue to honor his memory.
Alan was also preceded in death by his beloved parents, George and Mary Christie, and his brother, George K. Christie. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Although Alan’s professional life was notable, it was his personal interests and passions that added joy to his days. He was an avid Detroit Tigers and Michigan football fan, rarely missing a game and enthusiastically sharing in the highs and lows of every season. Growing up in northern Michigan, he developed a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors, spending countless days fishing and hunting. Bowling brought him much enjoyment, and he delighted in friendly competition and camaraderie at the lanes. Above all, Alan cherished time with his children and grandchildren, supporting them in every way and relishing the moments spent together.
Those who knew Alan remember his hardworking nature and unwavering support. His devotion to his family and dedication to everything he undertook leave an enduring mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Alan Christie will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
