Adellia Jones, affectionately known as Dee, passed away peacefully on July 12,2025. born Adellia Maxon on June 29, 1940 in Greenville, MS to Mandy and Matthew Maxon. She is reunited in spirit with her beloved husband Trebla "Seno" J. and her son James "Poochie" Maxon. The 2nd youngest of 12 children, she dedicated her life to her family, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of her loved ones.
Throughout her life, Adellia showcased her strong work ethic and commitment to family. While starting a family, she worked for various companies notably TPS, Jeep and St. Mary's School.
She was a very jazzy lady, enjoying many hobbies and interests that enriched her life such as watching The Bernie Mac show, dancing to the oldies or praising to The William Brothers. Her fondness for shopping, garage sales and The Blade's daily crossword puzzles illustrated her vibrant personality.
As the matriarch, Adellia leaves behind a loving family, including her children: Brenda Jones, Carmen Jones, Trebla Jones and Sherlon (Sherman) Gee. She was a proud, sweet and loving grandmother to: Jason Maxon, Kenya (Sanchez) Tenny, Markesha Jones, Candice Harden, Lavar (Tashana) Russell, Shantesta Wells, Terrell Jones, Rishad Williams, India (Justin) Hannah, Jasmine Munn, Diamond Bailey, Mehki Jones, and Justice Lucas-Jones. As well as a host of great grandchildren who will carry on her legacy. Her life's journey was filled with love, kindness and joyful and she will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. The memories she created will continue to shine brightly in the lives of her family and friends.
