Eloise Torres, age 92, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023 in Hillsdale, MI. The daughter of Antonio and Margaret Hernandez, she was born August 16, 1930 in Iowa. She moved to Toledo as a young girl and as an adult moved to Rockdale, Texas where she considered home. Eloise came back to Toledo during COVID. She was an avid fan of fishing, always catching the most and the biggest. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and people always came to her for advice.

She is survived by her children, Margaret (Arthur) Garza, Joseph (Nora) Torres, Richard (Amber) Torres, Debbie (Fred Cieply) Faust; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and sister, Olga (Henry) Martinez, Tony (Jane) Hernandez, Romero Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Alicia Torres; sons, Robert and Cecil Torres ; grandson, Richard Torres, Jr; great grandson, Angel Cieply; sons, Robert and Cecil Torres; siblings, Robert Hernandez, Amelia (Vincent) Dominguez, Carmen (Julio) Ramirez.

The family will receive guests on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 2-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home-Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd, Toledo (419-473-0300) where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Lake Twp. Cemetery.
