Shirley (Twigg) Montgomery, age 53, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Monday, March 13, 2023 at Flower Hospital with loving family by her side. She was born on May 31, 1969 to James and Shirley Joyce Twigg in Toledo, OH. Shirley graduated in 1987 from Springfield High School. She was employed with Toledo Driving Schools for many years as a driving instructor and scheduler. Shirley enjoyed taking trips to Florida, gardening, and liked games. She was an excellent cook, baker, loved music and was always listening to it. Shirley’s greatest passion was the love for her family, especially her grandchildren; they were the light of her life. Her smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish Shirley’s memory are her loving husband of 33 years, Rusty Montgomery; children, Amber (Corey) Willard and Russell (Christa) Montgomery II; beloved grandchildren, Ella, Payton, Kensley, Ryker, and Gunnar; mother, Joyce Twigg; siblings, James (Cindy) Twigg, Theodore Twigg, Larry (Diane) Twigg, Ronald Twigg, Robert (Sue) Twigg, Catherine (Todd) Dunagan, Angela Twigg, and Laura Twigg; best friend, Sam Yoder; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other dear friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Pamela Twigg.
A Celebration of Life honoring Shirley will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Sylvania Moose Lodge 1579, 6072 Main St., Sylvania, OH 43560.
