Carole J. (Lamprecht) Rice, age 89, of Toledo, passed peacefully into her eternal home on Saturday, March 11, 2023. She was born on April 16, 1933, to Fred and Vivian (Schaub) Lamprecht, and was a graduate of Woodward High School.

On December 1, 1951, she married Harry Rice, and together they raised three children. When the children started school, Carole went to work for Therma-Tru Corporation, and was there for many years before retiring in 1989. Harry and Carole were members of Trilby United Methodist Church for 17 years, serving in many different positions. In 2004, they moved to the Shoreland area, and joined Messiah Lutheran Church in Point Place, where they attended together until his death in July 2005.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Harry Jr. (Angela), of Fort Wayne, IN; Cheryl (Tom) Yunker, and Cindy Ventresca, of Toledo; grandchildren, Jamie Mocniak, Tiffany (Joe) Rowley, Tommy (Lisa) Yunker, Marisa (Dave) Torres, and Sadie Porter; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Gartee, Hanna Cline, Kendra Rodgers, Shawn Mocniak, Kendrick Rodgers, and Wyatt Torres.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Harry Rice, Sr.; and grandson, Roger Porter.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests tributes to Messiah Lutheran Church, 4703 Summit Street, Toledo, OH 43611, or to an organization of the donor’s choice.
