Mary Lee Woods passed away on January 21, 2023. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on December 24, 1942, to George and Donna Stockman. She attended Libbey High School before she married the love of her life, Thomas Woods on July 12, 1960. They raised four children together.
In addition to being a wonderful mother and homemaker, Mary was first and foremost a baptized Christian dedicated to serving God. For more than sixty years she began each day studying scripture and praying. She was a helping hand to many in need.
In 1992 & 1995 she was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. In 2001 & 2002, she was diagnosed with breast cancer as well. Mary endured countless surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. Her positive attitude became a beacon of hope to all that met her. She was an inspiration to those who were coping with cancer and other debilitating diseases.
Mary was known for her incredible dinner parties where her collection of friends and fellow parishioners enjoyed her fantastic cooking. She also loved to shop at garage sales - reselling the treasures she found to help send dozens of underprivileged children to summer camp over many years.
Mary also enjoyed traveling with her loving husband Tom. Together they went on over 70 cruises visiting numerous countries with family and friends.
Mary led by example and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mary is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Thomas Woods; children, Donna (Tim) Sanderson, Randall (Mary Lynn) Woods, Michelle Woods, Timothy (Kelli) Woods. 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful for the excellent care she received from the nurses and staff at Flower Hospital and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
