Joan S. Pistilli, age 90, of Toledo, born to eternal life and went to be with her precious Lord on November 18, 2022. Joan was born August 8, 1932 in Toledo, OH the daughter of John and Frances (Sobkowiak) Zielinski. She married her football hero Jerry and celebrated 70 years of marriage on March 31st 2022. She belonged to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Her spiritual compassion led her to volunteer and present Christ Renews His Parish to others. She at one time was part of Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and Engaged Couples Conference. She belonged to Comfort Quilts of St. Joan of Arc where she made blankets for the ill and babies being baptized. She was very creative and loved sewing, knitting, and working on her loom. She was part of the Faith Sharing group that met monthly for the last 22 years.

Next to her devotion to God, she loved her family fiercely. She loved all of the gatherings where her family could be together. She will be lovingly remembered for her sassy personality. Joan was a loving wife, mother, and Busia’ and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Joan was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Jerry Pistilli, her daughter Deborah, her granddaughter Megan, 2 brothers and a sister. She is survived by her sister, Franciscan, Sister Jeanette Zielinski; sons, Mikel (Ann) Pistilli, Deacon Anthony (Diane) Pistilli; grandchildren, Amanda Culver, Jacob (Jennifer) Pistilli, Libby (Ben) Crissman, Joe (Mary) Pistilli, Alex (Breanna) Pistilli; great-grandchildren, Miranda, Alana, Clark, Lucille, Molly, Mikel and Kenley and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive guests Monday, November 28, 2022 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, with a scripture service at 7:00 pm, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH (419-381-1900). Gathering at 10:30 am on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, with funeral services beginning at 11am at St. Joan of Arc Parish, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd Toledo, OH 43614 (419-866-6181).
