In Memory Of
Robert J. "Bob" Horton
1949 - 2022
In his younger years Bob enjoyed playing baseball and he continued playing with a City League for close to 12 years. He also enjoyed coaching his daughter’s youth ball teams. Bob was also an avid bowler. He had a passion for music and showed a musical talent playing the guitar. One of his all-time favorite artists was Elvis Presley.
Family was important to Bob, and he treasured the time he was able to spend with them, especially his children and grandchildren, whether it was going to their T-ball, basketball, softball or volleyball games. If he could make it, he would. There were also many years of Holiday celebrations and Birthdays that were all special events filled with love, laughter and of course 100's of funny stories. His sense of humor was appreciated by everyone, but the rule was to not let him answer the phone ... because you never knew what he was going to say to the caller at the other end of the line.
Traveling was also something Bob loved to do. There were many trips to exciting places like, Texas, Tennessee, Missouri, Hawaii, Maryland, Oklahoma, Florida and the Bahama's. A great time was always had by all. He was known for his interest in NASCAR, Kyle Busch was his favorite, and we can't forget his enthusiasm for The Ohio State Buckeyes. One of his other favorite activities was going to the casinos in Windsor and Toledo.
In addition to his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by his brothers, Sonny and Jerry Horton and mother-in-law, Carol Hibbs. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Tammy J. Horton; children, Tammy (Mike) Kennelly, Bobby Joe (Joe) Moore, April Horton, Joseph (fiancé, Katelin) Watkins and Coleeta (Nick) Smith; grandchildren, Micheal Kennelly, Joseph Kennelly, Justin (Brittany) Polek, Kayley (Jake) Wharton, Emily (Dustin) Graham, Tim Moore, Caleb Guest, Riley Morgan Watkins, Phoenix Smith, Mina Smith and Lucian Smith; great grandchildren, Emmitt Polek and Layla Wharton; brother, Ralph (Kathy) Horton; former wife, Deborah Horton; extended family and dear friends and fur-baby, Remy his chocolate lab.
