John J. Finney Sr., age 82, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at his home. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 16, 1940.

John graduated from Rogers High School in Toledo. He had worked at Doehler - Jarvis, where he retired after working. He enjoyed watching baseball, such as the Detroit Tigers and Toledo Mud Hens. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and cheering on his hockey teams, Detroit Redwings and Toledo Walleye.

Left to cherish John's memory are his children, Dawn (Kris Smith) Gaffney and John (Mona Toler) Finney, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Gloria Finney; son, Jeffrey Finney; and brother, Arthur Finney.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made out to any Northwest Ohio Diabetes Foundation.

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio, 4323, on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 11:00 am, with Chaplain Gregory Robert officiating. John will be laid to rest, next to Gloria, at Roselawn Memorial Park.
