In Memory Of
George L. Drewyor
1925 - 2022

George L. Drewyor, born May 16, 1925 to Mary and Arthur Drewyor. Graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1943, was drafted, became a Navy Seabee in WWII.

Upon his return, he met and married the love of his life, Darlene (Reissig). They were married 65 years until Darlene passed. After being an iron worker in Local 55, he went into sales for Premier Industrial Corp. He was always glad to offer his knowledge of how to perform any task, large or small, and do it meticulously! He had many interests, a few being, stamp collecting, which he was a member of the Toledo Stamp Collectors Club, baseball, including watching and coaching PeeWee Baseball for 9 years, and growing his favorite black raspberries, yum!

With broad shoulders and firm handshake, he was larger than life to his children instilling the value of hard work and the love for family and friends. He loved hosting family events, especially the Kentucky Derby party, playing cards, and just this past week he played several games of bingo with his family and of course George was the Bingo Master!

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his six children, Greg, Tim (Teri), Denise (Roger) Hawkins, George (Margaret), Tom, Kim (Wade) Hampton; brother, Art (Glenda); 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and many, many much loved nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; infant daughter, Janice; siblings, Joseph, James, and Carolyn.

Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3655 King Road, Toledo, Ohio 43617, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
