Michael Dean "Mike" McCandlish
1967 - 2021
Michael graduated from Bedford High School, class of 1985. He was a certified ASE auto technician and started out at Valiton Motors and then Monroe Dodge as an auto technician for many years before moving on to other interests. Mike had a passion for working on cars, anything electronic and gardening. He was always willing to help others at any given time. Mike made the best peanut brittle, pies, beef jerky, homemade rolls and bread, among many other things. He loved and had a knack for repairing not only cars, but just about everything. Mike enjoyed building and repairing houses as well as tending to his flock of chickens. He loved being around family and friends and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bryan McCandlish. Mike is survived by his siblings, Debra (David) Matzinger, Daryl McCandlish, Sandra McCandlish-Cordell, Kathleen (Frank) Bruck, Dean (Alicia) McCandlish II, and Caroline (Brian) Webster; sister-in-law, Peggy McCandlish; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Toledo Memorial Park at a later date.
