Hazel Ruth WMS-Armstrong, age 79, of Perrysburg, OH, passed away November 27, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Hazel was born January 26, 1942 in Bastrop, LA to Thomas and Della Williams.

Hazel was educated in Bastrop Public Schools, graduating from Morehouse High School in 1960. She obtained her Associates Degree from Toledo University in Child Development. She was employed with the Toledo Public Schools for more than 15 years. Hazel worked for Sears for more than 20 years.

Hazel was a member of Warren AME Church where she was a part of the Lay Organization. She served as a Missionary, Steward board #2 and on the Stewardess board. She was the President of the Deaconess Board. Hazel was also one of the founding members of the LA HA MA JO Organization and she was a member on the Trustee Board. Hazel was a member of he Naomi Chapter 23, Order of Easter Star, Middle West Grand Lodge where she served as the treasurer.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl Armstrong. Her brothers, Willie Williams, James Williams, Commodore Williams, Simmie (Laura "Baby") Williams, Lenard Williams and Charles Williams; and Sister, Ann Tate. Hazel had two children that also preceded her in death, oldest son, Melvin Williams, and middle daughter, Tracey Williams.

She is survived by her Daughters, Laura “Angel” Williams, and Yolanda (Eric) Johnson; Sons, Jeffrey Williams, and David (Nicole) Williams; Grandchildren, Essence Colbert, Jeffrey Williams, Jr., Jessica Williams, JaLynne Williams, Jelena Williams, David Williams, Jr., and Jonathan Williams; Great-Grandchildren, Julia Williams and Jaimes Williams.

The family will receive guests Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 9:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – Southwest Chapel, (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
