Norma J. Folden, age 84, of Toledo, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Goerlich Center, Sylvania. She was born on August 22, 1937 to Afton and Helen Hughes in Toledo. Norma was a graduate of Whitmer High School. She worked as a secretary for many years, but mainly was a homemaker throughout her life. Norma enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and was an avid reader. She liked spending time with her family and grandchildren. Norma’s smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Hughes. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Robert Powell and Deborah (Christopher) Feher; grandchildren, Katelyn, and Nicholas; nephew, Steven (Jackie) Hughes; and many dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 4 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Association.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the staff and caregivers at the Goerlich Center for all of their love, care and support given to Norma and our family through this difficult time.
