In Memory Of
Ronald S. "Sonny" Kaminski
1939 - 2021

Ronald S. “Sonny” Kaminski, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 7, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio with his loving family at his side. Ron was born in Toledo, OH on October 30, 1939 to Alice (Sochacki) and Stanley Kaminski. He graduated from Woodward High School, spent time overseas in Germany while serving in the U.S. Army, and once back in Toledo began his job at Jeep Corporation. Ron met and married Shirley Dean in 1964, and together they raised their three children in Temperance, MI.

Ron enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, and was always known to have a story to tell. He made the best kielbasa and also liked polish music and polka dancing. Ron loved to travel and was always looking for the next best car, truck, or camper to take him on those adventures. Ron retired from Jeep in 1994, where he had been a millwright, and moved to his lakefront home in Coldwater, MI, where many fond memories were made fishing on the lake and having family over for fun-filled weekends. He moved back home to Toledo to be near family, but soon the travel bug bit him again, so he and Shirley sold their home and decided to live full time in their RV. They traveled the country and had many great adventures along the way. They moved to Point Place in 2011, and it was soon after that Ron trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior, securing his eternal home in Heaven.

Ron was a kind, loving, and giving husband, dad, and grandpa, and he will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Ron is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley; children, Judy (Ed) McDonald, Jeff (Kris) Kaminski, and Jennifer (Travis) Sturt; grandchildren, Jill (Kasey) Sullivan, Caitlyn (Seth) Rettig, Eddie McDonald, Kyle (Elizabeth) Kaminski, Austin (Carleigh) Kaminski, Dean Sturt, and Maisen Sturt; great grandchildren, Isla, Logan, Asher, Peter, Everleigh, Theodore, and Haven; and sisters, Joan Sylak and Connie (Max) Kessler. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Kaminski.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Monclova Road Baptist Church, 7819 Monclova Rd, Monclova, OH, 43542, with a fellowship hour from 10 – 11:00 a.m. in church.
