1942 - 2021

Joseph L. Wallace, age 78, of Swanton, OH passed away October 5, 2021 at Flower Hospital. He was born November 20, 1942 in Toledo to Joseph and Lillian (Cartwright) Wallace. Joe was employed with Charlies Dodge for many years retiring in 2011. He was an avid NASCAR fan and drove Figure 8 race cars for many years at Toledo and Flat Rock Speedways. Joe enjoyed the Toledo Walleye Hockey Team, Detroit Red Wings, and Ohio State Football. Joe loved spending time with his family and friends at Hidden Lake Campground.

In addition to his parents, Joe was also preceded in death by his, son, Joseph Louis Wallace; grandson, Stephen Wallace and brother, Norris “Wally” Wallace. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sharon Wallace; children, Jerry Wallace, Terry Wallace, Gary (Lori) Wallace, Janet (Larry) King, Dan (Leigh Ann) Wirick, Jim (Wendy) Wirick and Matt (Tracy) Wirick; 29 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; and sister, Karen (Ed) Miller.

The family will receive guests Monday, October 11, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Greater Toledo Challenger Little League (GTCLL) in Joe's memory.
