Al Newton "Wheels" Miller
1967 - 2021

Al Newton “Wheels” Miller, age 54, of Toledo, OH passed away peacefully September 12, 2021. He was a 1985 graduate of Rogers High School and attended the University of Toledo.

For 31 years Al worked for the CYO throughout Toledo. He was known as “Coach” by many girls basketball teams. Some teams even played in State level competitions. Al was awarded by the CYO for his outstanding contribution to the CYO basketball program. Others remember “Wheels” from his own years playing wheelchair basketball and football.

Al is survived by his wife of 17 years, Debbie (Bostelman) Miller; brother, Bill (Dawn); nieces, Jessica, Ashley, Chrissy and Marissa; nephew, Joshua; multiple great nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Judy Johnson; loving members of his wife’s family, his loving fur baby Bella and many close friends including his childhood best friend, Bob Majchszak. Al was preceded in death by his parents, Billie and Joyce Miller; sister, Debbie; sister-in-law, Theresa; father-in-law, Charles Bostelman and step-father-in-law, Ralph Johnson.

Al will be remembered for his kind ways, his willingness to give 100% despite his physical struggles and his love for the Michigan Wolverines…GO BLUE!, the L.A. Dodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Montreal Canadians.

The family will receive guests Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m. at the Newcomer SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). A Celebration of Al’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
