In Memory Of
Barbara S. "Barb" Colyer
1937 - 2021
A woman of faith, Barb was known for her generosity and kindness. During her life, she enjoyed careers in bookkeeping and hospital administration. Barb also received a degree from Northwest State Community College. She was an avid walker who enjoyed staying fit and being in perpetual motion. Barb also enjoyed playing cards and was a member of a card club which lasted over four decades. Mrs. Colyer enjoyed summers at the family cottage in Brooklyn, Michigan and developed lifelong friendships there at Vineyard Lake.
As a child of the Great Depression and an individual who weathered other economic downturns, Barbara was respected for her frugal and simple approach to life. She was equally admired for her eternally positive attitude, cheery disposition, and infectious laugh. During her 83-year journey with us all, she developed and nurtured friendships with scores of individuals. Barbara’s lifelong friendship with her sister Ramona was perhaps one of her most treasured. Most notably, she deeply cherished her loving husband, Joe. The two were inseparable and he was her cornerstone. Barb's smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
