Kathleen M. (née Reno) Walsh

Kathleen (Kate) Walsh of Toledo passed away on July 22, 2021 one week after her 90th birthday.

Kate grew up in Point Place and was a 1949 graduate of St. Ursula Academy known to family and friends for her witty humor with a sparkle in her eye and a quick one-liner. She was very proud of and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s soccer games, school events and many graduations.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Dr. Thomas (Rosanne) Walsh, Mary C. Kalanquin and Matthew (Lisa) Walsh; six grandchildren, Dr. Emily (Dr. Mathew) Lopes, Emmett (Dr. Arielle) Walsh, Leah (Dr. Jeff) Balogh, Dr. Libby (Caleb) Palumbo, Alexa (Addison) Hirschfeld, and Lily Kalanquin; five great-grandchildren, Witten, Mylah, Lucas, Lydia, Shepherd and baby Lopes arriving in December; many nieces and nephews and dear family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Mary Reno; brother, The Hon. Francis F. Reno; sisters, Magdalene and Marcella; and loving friend, Ray DiPierro.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Chang Xia and Dr. Robert Axonovitz and their staffs plus the nurses on the 6th floor of ProMedica Toledo Hospital for the diligent care, love and comfort they provided to Kate. Special thanks to James Bishop, Esq.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, Ohio 43623 preceded by a visitation in the narthex of the church beginning at 9:30 am.

Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Red Cross or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
