In Memory Of
Timothy R. "Tim" King
1947 - 2021

Timothy R. King, age 73, of Temperance, Michigan, gave his final salute, January 10, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Tim was born February 5, 1947, to Robert and Jean (Randolph) King in Erie Pennsylvania.

Tim was a 1965 graduate of Bowsher High School in Toledo, Ohio. He proudly served in the United States Navy, in the Vietnam War, from 1965-1968. Tim also attended classes at the University of Toledo.

While stationed in the Navy in the Philippines, Tim met and married his first wife Elsa Regalado and returned to Toledo where they raised their three sons.

He married his second wife, the love of his life, Cynthia King in 1988 and settled in Temperance, Michigan in 1996. After 32 years of marriage, Tim would often surprise her with flowers or bring home her favorite coffee drink from Starbucks or her favorite sandwich from Sofo’s. He still lovingly cooked most of her meals and always told her that she was his “best customer”. Together they enjoyed dining out, traveling, and just spending time together watching favorite TV programs each evening

Tim worked at Libby Glass Company when he returned stateside from the Service to Toledo Ohio. In 1973, he followed in his father’s footsteps and began his career at the Social Security Administration. He worked in three states Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio. He retired in 2000.

Tim was an ardent patriot and was passionate about our country. He enjoyed making Betsy Ross flags for all the veterans he knew as well as family. He enjoyed reading, listening to all types of music, cooking, an avid sports fan, especially college football, and was a history buff.

He will be remembered as a jokester. He loved to laugh and play practical jokes on friends and family. He was kind, caring and generous. His smiling face will be missed by all.

Tim is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia L. King; sons, Timothy (Michaelle) King, Thomas King, and Randall King; twin sister, Susan King (Philip); brother, Dr. Kevin King, and grandchildren Siena, Brett, Trent, Rebecca & Elysha and all family and friends to whom he touched over 73 years.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Robert King; mother, Jean King; and sisters Marybeth DeWood and Laurie King.

Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, January 28, 2021, from 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 Laskey Rd., Toledo OH 43623, where the Vigil will take place at 6:30 pm. Masks and social distancing are requested. A private memorial mass will be held on January 29, 2021. Private interment will be held at a later date, at Resurrection Cemetery, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Navy Marine Corps Relief Society.
