In Memory Of
Carl Gordon Wootton
1944 - 2020

Carl Gordon Wootton was born in Colchester, Great Britain on October 31, 1944 to the late Frederick and Evelyn (Denny) Wootton. He attended Libbey High School and went on to honorably serve in the United States Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Carl supported his family as a Truck Driver for Ohio Delivery for over 20 years retiring in 2004.
He married Jane (Brecht) Haims on September 6, 1997 at Otsego Park.
Carl was a recovering drug addict and alcoholic who by the grace of his Higher Power was sober over 33 years through the aid of Alcohol Anonymous. He genuinely cared and found pleasure in helping those in recovery. Carl was a hard worker and had great talents in remodeling his home. He was not afraid to speak his mind at times to get his point across, especially during political discussions. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, playing baseball and loved landscaping and gardening.
Carl was an excellent husband and companion to Jane and loved his family dearly. He adored his grandchildren and looked forward to times spent with them.
In his quiet time, Carl could be found reading Westerns, history or philosophy with his dog Sophie at his side.
