Sameh L. "Sam" Wassef
1955 - 2020

Sameh L. “Sam” Wassef, age 64, of Holland, OH, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, June 24, 2020 with his loving wife by his side. He was born on December 19, 1955 to Latif Wassef and Zehour Hanna in Cairo, Egypt. Sam came to know the Lord as a teenager at camp. He was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he met his soul mate, Elizabeth Parmelee and they married in 1993. Sam received a Doctorate Degree in Veterinarian Medicine from Cairo University. He then became a United States citizen in the late 90’s. Sam owned and operated SMS Ambassadors since 1991. He often enjoyed traveling with his family to various places. Sam loved spending time with his wife, and children. His smile, spirit and caring nature will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Sam is survived by his loving wife of almost 27 years, Elizabeth Wassef; children, Grace, Samuel, Joseph and Leah Wassef; mother-in-law, Sharon Parmelee; brothers, Samy, Seety, and Magdy (Vivian) Wassef; brothers-in-law, Matthew (Michelle) and Stephen (Melissa) Parmelee; and many other family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, June 28, 2020 from 3 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday, June 29, 2020 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo at 11:00 a.m. with gathering from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at church. Adhering to social distancing guidelines during services.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions in honor of Sam are asked to consider Abasia Church, Cairo, Egypt; The Gideons International or Emmanuel Christian School.
