Tod A. Schmidt, age 52, of Sylvania Township, passed away peacefully Monday, June 22, 2020 at home. He was born on May 4, 1968 to Gerald and Joyce (Depew) Schmidt in Toledo. Tod was a graduate of Woodward High School in 1986. He worked as a mechanic throughout his life until retiring. Tod was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed reading and playing cards. Tod also collected knives of all sorts. He liked spending time with his family, especially his grandson. Tod’s smile, spirit and quiet nature will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Tod is survived by his wife of 28 years, Dawn; sons, Zach and Austin Schmidt; grandson, Jaxson; mom, Joyce Hymore; brother, Korey Schmidt; niece, Erika (Jeffrey) Cook; nephews, Kyle and Keaton Schmidt; and many other family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father; and best friend, Stephen Woodward.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, June 28, 2020 from 1 – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo, OH 43617 (419-392-9500).
