1942 - 2020

Larry W. Hensley, age 77, of Sylvania, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020 at Park Terrace Nursing and Rehab. He was born on October 27, 1942 to James and Thelma (Bramer) Hensley in Big Sandy, West Virginia. Larry worked at AP Parts for 30 years until retiring. He was a member of UAW Local 14 and former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1610, Port Clinton. Larry was a member of Calvary Bible Chapel and loved the Lord. He was an avid country watcher and loved John Wayne. Larry was a die-hard American. He also liked camping, traveling and going to garage sales. Larry enjoyed time spent with family, siblings and grandchildren. His smile, sense of humor and spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Hensley; and 6 siblings. Larry is survived by his children, Bryan (Cleretta) Hensley, JoAnna (Damon) Geckle and Jody Darr; grandchildren, Roxanne and Bryan II Hensley, Ralph (Mandy) Obenour III, Jessica (Sean) Obenour, Taylor Geckle, Jolene Darrlebowski and and Destiny Vasvery; great-grandchildren, Ricky Riffe II and Emma Sartor; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 2 – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo (419-392-9500) with Funeral Services beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Association.
