It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved daughter, Kelly Lynn Stein. Her sudden passing leaves me heartbroken. I know many of you loved Kelly as well, and so I share this news with you as her friends and colleagues.

Kelly Lynn Stein, age 38, of Schaumberg, Illinois passed away suddenly on May 1, 2020. Kelly was born May 17, 1981 in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Toledo Central Catholic High School (Class of 1999) and The Ohio State University (Class of 2004). A lifelong Buckeye fan, her years in Columbus were spent surrounded by her Alpha Xi Delta Sisters and celebrating their National Championship run in 2002.

After college Kelly had a long, successful career in hospitality management before following her passion and returning to school for a degree in elementary education from National Luis University. Since 2017, Kelly adored teaching pre-school. Her students brought her great joy and fulfillment.

Kelly is preceded in death by her father Dennis; grandparents, Phil, Phyllis, Carl, Stella and great-grandmother, Busia.

She is survived by her devoted mother and best friend, Debbie Marx; step-father, Gary; step-brother, Tim (Julie) Marx and their children, Eric and Brian; step-sister, Toni (Bill) Manders and their son, James; as well as aunts and uncles, Mike (Linda), Pam, Chris, Patrick, Ken (Diane); numerous cousins and a host of dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Her Celebration of Life Service will be private for immediate family. (All guidelines with respect to public gatherings, masks and social distancing will be enforced).
