He served proudly in the United States Navy from 1945 – 1948 in California, and as a merchant marine on the Great Lakes, before beginning his career as a union floor layer through Carpenters Locals 1457 and 351, retiring in 1991. He then worked in the community for Meals on Wheels for several years, passionately serving those who couldn’t enjoy the independence that he did. When he wasn’t enjoying these special interests, or helping others, he loved to be out fishing, playing cards, and just being together with his many family and friends.
