In Memory Of
Mary Ann "Mother Mary" Tucker
1930 - 2019

Mary Ann (Collins) Tucker affectionately called Mother Mary, went home to be with the Lord on the 23rd of August, 2019 at the blessed age of 88 years old, which she considered to be her year of DOUBLE blessings! Born in Toledo, Ohio on November 15, 1930, she was one of 8 children born to Arthur and Sally Bell (Hurston) Collins. 1) James Collins, 2) Imogene (Collins) Brown, 3) Alberta (Collins) Burgess, 4) Claire (Collins) Carter, 5) Mary Ann (Collins) Tucker, 6) Joseph (Beatrice) Collins, 7) Roosevelt Collins, and 8) Abraham Collins.

Mary Ann Tucker was known as Aunt Mary Ann by many, and as Mother Mary by most, that’s because she was like a mother, to all the children in the families of her siblings and beyond, too many to mention here, but she loved them all very much! And they love her!

Mother Mary had 2 sons. Harold E. (Genise “Necie”) Lindsey, Jr. and Edward Lewis (Pam) Tucker, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren! The newest edition being Ms. Logan Treadwell, Edward’s granddaughter.

Mother Mary was well loved by her family and friends!

Personal Thoughts from Mother Mary…

My favorite song: Precious Lord take my hand, lead me on…
My favorite color: Red, sky blue, and white (purity).
My favorite book: The Bible, and old hymn books!
My favorite flower: The Red Rose.
My favorite season: Summer! I love the warmth, and planting flowers!

What has life meant to me? As I lived, I wanted to live for Jesus. “The highest honor I have ever had, is to help another, whether that’s family, a stranger, friend or foe!”

What I always wished for? I wished that I could play piano, and could have had more children.

A message to my family and friends: Every day you are blessed to wake up, Praise The Lord until you go to sleep at night! Because he is WORTHY to be praised! And do not let your gifts and talents waste away! Use them for the glory of God! Delight yourself in the Lord!

Special Appreciation to…

1) Pastor Blandine Walls: Mother Mary’s Pastor and Angel of the Lord for, many years!
2) Pastor and First Lady Harold and Modene Stegall: Your phone calls, prayers and visits meant the world to us! Thank you and God bless you!
3) The wonderful staff at the Laurels Nursing Care Facility! Amazing people! Thank you!
4) Mrs. Valerie Mahas (Owner of Partners in Home Care) for such incredible care and concern!
5) A very special thank you to each and every one of you who came out to show your love, kindness and thoughtfulness for Mother Mary and the family. God bless you all!
