James E. Ulrich, Sr., age 74, of Petersburg, MI, passed away April 9, 2018 at St. Lukes Hospital. Jim was born August 18, 1943 in Toledo to Charles and Ruth (Mara) Ulrich. Jim served in the US Navy. He was employed with the GM Powertrain for 34 years retiring in 2004 and was the owner/operator of Tradewinds Charter Service. Jim was a member and on the board of directors of Western Basin Charter Boat Assoc., Lake Erie Charter Boat Assoc. member, committee member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and a member of Ottawa Lake Sportsman Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Sandra L. Ulrich, children, Kimberly (David) Lord, James (Katherine) Ulrich, Jr., Kelly (Richard) Meek, Joseph (Jennifer) Ulrich, Richard (Regina) Ulrich, Sr., Brandi (Bryan) Kayne, siblings, Diane (William) McCartney, Thomas Ulrich, Delores (Thomas) Roesner, Mary Hass; 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive guests, Saturday April 14, 2018 from 12 noon until services at 3:45 p.m. at Newcomer - Northwest Chapel 4150 W. Laskey Rd., (419-473-0300).

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in Jim's memory.
