Hartyoun "Harry" Tchobanian
1937 - 2023

Hartyoun “Harry” Tchobanian, 85 of Toledo, Ohio peacefully passed away February 1, 2023, at ProMedica Ebeid Hospice Unit in Sylvania, Ohio.

Harry was a loving father, husband, son, brother, and friend. He was born on June 20, 1937, in Baghdad, Iraq. In 1952 at the age of 15, he immigrated to the United States. After graduating from DeVilbiss High school, Harry worked for 17 years as a dye casting foreman for Hilfinger Corporation. He held residences over the years in Covington, TX, Tuscan, AZ, and Toledo, OH.

Harry and his beloved wife of 50 years, Beverly, were a true illustration of love and compassion. As a blended family, their unwavering commitment to a united front built a strong, indivisible marriage. Harry was a noble man who honored his wife and treated all people with respect and dignity. His wisdom and simplicity made him larger than life.

Harry found peace and enjoyment riding his tractor on his 45-acre ranch in Texas, where he resided for nearly 30 years. He was a proud Texan from his cowboy hat and bolo tie, all the way down to his leather boots. Harry loved to eat and believed every meal could be improved by adding a few jalapenos and tabasco sauce. An avid animal lover, he had horses, cattle, and many four-legged friends including the second love of his life and family dog, Muffy.

Harry is survived by his wife Beverly Tchobanian; children Maria Shell, Becky Mugler, Tim Kromenacker, and Tami (Mike) Kromenacker; Grandchildren Derrick (Kristen) Shell, Joshua (Krista) Shell, Mandy Shell, Bryan (Caila) Kromenacker, Kevin (Amy) Kromenacker, Scott Kromenacker, Ryan Patterson, and Dillon (Courtney) Patterson; Sister Annahid “Ann” Tutelian; Sister-in-law Sona Tchobanian; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

Harry was preceded in death by his son Jonathan Tchobanian, his sister Rose Simonian, and his brother Kevork Tchobanian.
