Linda Blakeslee
1949 - 2023

Linda Helen Blakeslee, age 73, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on February 1, 2023. Linda was born December 30, 1949 in Traverse City, Michigan, to the late James and Erma (Totten) Newstead.

She loved fishing, hunting, camping, crocheting, and making special quilts for the family. Linda loved to travel on her Harley across the country, but most importantly, she loved her family, caring for them, making special meals like meatloaf patties, nachos, stuffing, and everyone’s favorite, “homemade flour tortillas” and baked beans. Linda loved her music. She would stay up with her grandson, Dillon, and they would listen to their favorite songs together. She was the kind of person who loved with her whole heart. When she welcomed you, you became part of the family. She loved to laugh and have fun. Spending time with her family, enjoying life, and making beautiful memories. The best daughter, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother anyone could ever ask for. She was truly a blessing to us all and she will be deeply missed and loved forever and ever until we meet again.

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her daughter, Marcella (Greg) Lambert; her children of the heart whom she adopted, Bri Florez, Terri Majsak, Tracy Sherwood, Tawn Hoffman, Tiffany Coyne, Denise Lambert, Christine Lambert, Stephanie Krutz, Amy Lambert, Kimberly Krutz, Randall Lambert, Michelle Krutz, Nicole Krutz, Amber Florez, Romulo and Tyeshia Florez; siblings, Duane Newstead, Lois Snyder, Maria Rubio, Raquel Florez, Jeannie Hand, Veronica Florez, Jose and India Florez, Jesse and Meronica Florez; grandchildren, Dillon and Evangelina Florez, Reina Estrella Leticia Florez, Adam Couturier, Ezekiel and Justin Couturier, Ronald Couturier, Gregory Lambert Jr., Serenity Lambert, Johnny Travis, Lylah and Lilly, Tyler Travis, Jason Travis, Sean Lambert, Blanca Menjivar, EJ Vega, Javy Coronado, Ana Coronado, Benny Vega, Marito Menjivar, Nico Menjivar, Marco Menjivar and 56 other special grandchildren and 32 very special great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her adopted parents, Feliz and Isabel Florez; her siblings, James E. Newstead Jr., Maridene Blakeslee, Janet Tracy, Avonda Dobson, Clarissa Anderson, and John Florez.

At this time no services will be held.
