In Memory Of
Victoria Scott Colbert
1951 - 2023

Victoria (Vickie) Scott Hayward Colbert was born on September 19, 1951, in Charleston, West Virginia to Oscar Taffeira Scott and Marion Stovall Scott. Victoria along with her mother and sister, Marcia would later moved to Toledo, Ohio to be with family where she lived until her death. Her parents preceded her in death.

She was educated in the Toledo Public School System. Vickie graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1969. She married Charles Hayward in 1969 and to this union four children were born, Charles Godfrey, Stephen Christopher, Matthew Scott and Marion Elizabeth (Missy). Vickie and Charles would end their marriage in 1988. To help take care of her family she held multiple jobs including working in one of the local banks as well as working in the office of the Civil Rights Commission in Toledo, OH. She volunteered Urban Federal Credit Union. After a career change she managed several doctor’s offices and later worked for Toledo Hospital until her retirement in 2020.

She was a faithful member of All Saints Episcopal Church, where she volunteered often as well as in the community. Vickie married Dwain Colbert on October 14, 2012. Their love for sports would take them to multiple NBA Allstar Games, Ohio State Buckeye Football games and Season Tickets to her beloved Detroit Pistons.

She was a dedicated wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to so many. She was a kind loving person and avid sports lover. She loved to travel. Her travels would take to India, Portugal, Mexico and across the United States. Vickie lit up every room she graced. She was fun, loving and had an all-around joyful presence.

Gone suddenly from the world but remaining in our hearts, the Lord called Vickie home on Friday, January 27, 2023.

She leaves to cherish and celebrate her life, her beloved husband Dwain Colbert, children: Charles Hayward (Brinda), Stephen Hayward (Stephanie), Matthew Hayward, Marion Hayward (John Cole), grandchildren; Caitlyn Beard (Jared), Marissa Reimer (Caleb), Lauren, Andrew, Cavin, Ayana, Victoria, Heather, Matthew, and Grayson, and great-grandchildren, Emilia, Patrick and Ellis, sister Marcia Scott, her only niece Mya Colbert, godbrother Joey Reddick, stepmother, Angela Vann, sisters-in-love, Monica Perryman (Willie); Eddie Mae “Jamie” Colbert, Veronica Morris and Veranda (Joe) Rayford; brothers-in-love, Quillie “Myron” Colbert, Reginald “Reggie” Colbert, Vernon “Tank” Colbert, Reginald Marco: Marion D.
