Constance L. Makras of Toledo, OH crossed to the gates of Heaven on December 3, 2022 at the age of 76 years old. She was born on September 25, 1946 to the late Walter and Lucille (Whitt) Tunison. Connie was married to the late George P. Makras for 48 years before his passing in 2016.

Connie had a love for gardening and her garden was even featured in PM magazine. She was a manager at Toledo Elks Lodge 53, Sylvania for several years. While Connie had many roles over her years her most cherished role was being a loving mother and homemaker for her children, as well as taking on the role of a second mom to all of their friends. In her later years she was blessed to be a grandmother to her 6 grandchildren, and found pride in raising her grandson, Michael.

Connie is survived by her children, George Makras, Michael Makras and Melissa Mish; grandchildren, Michael (Kailee) Makras, Nicholas Makras, Olivia Mish, Darren Mish and Alexandria Makras; great-grandchildren, Royce Makras and Evangeline Richardson; 2 brothers; and 3 sisters; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; 2 sisters; 1 brother; son, Joe Makras; son-in-law, Richard Mish; and grandson, Richie Mish Jr.

The family will receive guests on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
