1939 - 2022

Earl R. “Buzz” McGee, age 83, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehab. He was born on November 7, 1939 to Michael and Charlotte McGee in Toledo. Earl worked for U.S. Reduction for many years before retiring. He was an avid fisherman both in the summer and winter on Lake Erie and in Canada. Earl liked archery, and hunting for pheasant and deer. He loved dogs, especially English Springer Spaniels. Earl had a great sense of humor, quick wit and would light up any room he walked in to. He had a passion for old country music, George Jones being his all-time favorite; seeing him in concert 13 times. Earl loved spending time with family, especially his granddaughters. His smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice McGee; brother, Clement “Tim” McGee; and niece, Toni Culliford. Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Katherine “Kathy” Perz and Steven McGee; loving “Boppa” to his granddaughters, Paige, Olivia and Caroline; brother, Bob (Sue) McGee; sister-in-law, Carole McGee; nephews and dear friends.

There will be no visitation or services for Earl per his request. Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
