In Memory Of
Michael James Blazey
1975 - 2022

On July 30th, 2022, our Higher Power took the physical life of Michael James Blazey “Mike” at the young age of 47 at his home with his wife in Holland, Ohio. He will meet again his father, James C. Blazey; his grandfather, Allen S. Hoover Sr.; great grandma and grandpa Sharbonneau; great grandma Hoover; and beloved friend, Bruce Kitchen.

Known as “Mikey” to only his family, he is survived by the light of his life, his cherished wife, Jenny Blazey; son, Christopher; mother, Tara (a.k.a Terry); grandmother, Shirley; grandfather, Chester; brother, Matt; and his sister, Kristine. He also leaves behind father figure, James Best; two stepsons; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and In-laws. He will be greatly missed by all that love him.

Mike was born on February 24, 1975, in Toledo, Ohio, where he took great joy in helping any person broke down on the side of the road. He did not hesitate to go out of his way for family, friends, or complete strangers. He had a pure heart, honest soul, and great mind. His life was met with many challenges and obstacles, but he never gave up and was always true to himself. He was not afraid to tell his feelings or speak truths hard for others to hear. Mike enjoyed camping, fishing, playing pool and poker, working on cars, and loved cooking for his wife. NASCAR was his sport of choice, being a fan of Carl Edwards (Retired) and Chase Elliot. He loved animals and had many pets that will be waiting to welcome him home. His Spirit will live on with all of us.

“Life had been tough on him, and he often drifted to the edge. He loved his drink and his bud, they made him feel like life was a bit kinder to him, and I suppose I couldn’t blame him for that.” -L.L. Musings
Mikey’s wishes were to be cremated without a showing. His ashes will be with his loved ones and spread in the places he enjoyed, including sneaking a little of him under casino poker tables.

A private viewing was held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Sunday, August 7th, 2022, for immediate family that needed to say their goodbye.

A Celebration of his life and gathering to share memories will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 1:00 - p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at The Lodge at Strawberry Acres Park, 950 S. McCord Rd., Holland, OH 43528.

In Lieu of flowers, please consider Home Depot gift cards to assist his wife in completing unfinished home projects that he greatly enjoyed doing.
