Robert A. "Bob" Sims
1957 - 2022

Robert “Bob" Sims, a retired IronWorker, who lived his life in the Toledo Metropolitan Area, died June 24 at The University of Toledo Medical Center of underlying health issues. He was 64.

Those that were close to Bob, understood his big personality, and his vocal approach. Known for his contagious laugh, he could easily brighten a room or moment with one single chuckle.

Being a huge sports fan, he loved following The Detroit Tigers and the Las Vegas Raiders. He would talk about the glory days of each team, and would always believe that the current season was his team’s “Year”.

When not working, he was an advocate for all animals. He would care for any living creature, and bring them in as his own little family. His care and love of animals helped bring a serenity to his life.

Born December 31, 1957 to Jackie and Manard Sims, he was one of eight children of the large household. After graduating from Roger High School, he would go on to start his career path, while also creating his own little family.

He leaves his son Jason and wife Rachael; grandsons Ayden (Justin’s Son) and Macsen (Jason’s Son), and granddaughter Avery (Jason’s Daughter).

He is preceded in death by his son Justin, who died in 2018.

A private memorial will be held at his favorite fishing spot, where those close to him will celebrate his life.
