Edward Stanley “Butch” Berbec, age 75, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Park Terrace Nursing Home. He was born on October 24, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Edward and Helen (Dressel) Berbec.

Edward graduated from Catalina High School in Tucson, Arizona. Following school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he served during the Vietnam War as a combat solider. Edward had worked at General Motors, in Toledo, where he retired after 23 years. He was a talented accordion player and was very caring; he would help anyone in need. Edward was a good son, brother, and friend and he will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving brother, James Berbec; special cousin, John Dressel; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Kurek.

Family and friends may join the family in a funeral service for Edward on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at 1:00 pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623. Following the service, visitation will follow until 5:00 pm.

Edward will be laid to rest at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at a later date.
