1950 - 2022

Cynthia "Memaw" White, 71, went home to glory on January 20, 2022. She was born on July 15, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Eugene S. and Marie S. Houston.

Cynthia graduated from Waite High School, Class of 1968. Following graduation, she attended Davis College of Business. After school, Cynthia continued on to work as a Data Processor at Owens Illinois for 10 plus years and Riverside Hospital for 20 plus years. Cynthia also attended Owens Community College School of Culinary. Cynthia was an active member of Christ Church Triumphant where she did volunteer work, participated in a bible study group, and loved to fellowship with her brothers and sisters of the church. She also enjoyed spending time with her dear friend Sarah.

Cynthia had a loving nature and was always the life of the party. She made everyone feel welcomed and had a very bright smile. Her laughter was contagious. She had a bubbly personality and a wonderful spirit. She was known to spread her love through food.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene “Genie” and Charles “Jimmy,” and nephews Bryan and Kevin.

Cynthia is survived by her children, Jeff (Amy) and Kesha; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Ally), Kearia, Alana, Alecia, Jaylen, Isaiah; and great-grandchild, Xavier and a future great-grandson. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Shirley Ellis and Judy (Butch) Ellis; and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive guests Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) where Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.

Those who wish to remember Cynthia in a special way may make donations to the American Diabetes Association. Cynthia’s wish was to remember her life joyfully in color. To fulfill her wish, we encourage visitors to wear colors. Masks are mandated.
