In Memory Of
Ricky L. "Rick" Elekonich
1955 - 2021

Ricky “Rick” Lee Elekonich, 65, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. He was born to Andrew and Theresa Elekonich on May 19, 1955.

He married the love of his life, Carolyn, on November 18, 1977. Rick was a retiree of the Jeep Assembly Plant where he worked 30 years to the day. He was an avid duck hunter who enjoyed spending time outdoors or in his garage entertaining family and friends. Rick was a loving husband and father, a proud grandpa, and a loyal friend.

Rick was preceded in death by both of his parents; brother, Gary; and beloved grandson, Brody. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn; children, Nicole (John) Daly, Sara (Paul) Bersticker, and Lee Elekonich; grandchildren; Brock, Elizabeth, and Anna; as well as sister, Lin Okuley; and brother, Ron (Mary Sue) Elekonich.

More than 43 years ago he told Carol that he couldn’t promise her that he could give her a rich life, but that he would give her a fun life. He lived up to that promise and his family has lifetime of fun memories to cherish.

The family will receive guests on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 3 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania, 3655 King Rd., Toledo (419-392-9500) with a Celebration of Life beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

A special thank you to the Staff at Ebeid Hospice and St. Anne’s Hospital of Toledo.
