Howard was a Classic Car enthusiast, collecting many over the years. He also enjoyed traveling throughout the area to Car Shows. One of his favorite experiences was driving his '51 Mercury on the beach in Daytona, Florida. Howard was also a talented woodworked and knew his way around all kinds of tools. He showed this by remodeling his home and making all kinds of things in his garage over the years. Howard also loved spending time at his cabin at Meadows Lake in Indiana. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather cherishing the time he was able to spend with his family.
In addition to his parents, Howard was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Shirley (Stultz) Davenport and his siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Roxane (Smitty) Smith and son, Jeffrey Davenport; granddaughter, Melissa McCullough and her children, Sophia, Aaliyah, Emelia and Briella and granddaughter, Deanna McCullough and her children, Josiah and Aria. Howard will also be missed by several dear friends.
The family will receive guests Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 2:30 - 7:00 pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Friends are also welcome to join the family on Tuesday at 2:00 pm for a Funeral Service to remember Howard.
Those wishing to make Memorial Contributions are asked to consider the family to assist with expenses.
