Donald Elkins, age 79, of Ottawa Hills and Navarre, Florida, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Kingston Residence, Sylvania. He was born on August 7, 1940 to Donald and Irene (Maul) Elkins in Dallas, Texas. Donald was a graduate of the University of California Long Beach. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Air National Guard. Donald held several management positions over the years most recently with the Ford Motor Company retiring in 2006. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed spending time in his mechanic’s dream garage; there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He also was way ahead of his time with computers; he could build, fix and improve anything with them. Donald also loved sailing, bicycling and traveling. He enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Vinita Elkins and step-brother, Larry Gray. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Pamela Johnson; children Cindy (Brad) Carr, Gregory (Jennifer) Elkins, Mitchell Baghdoian and Matthew (Jennifer) Baghdoian; grandchildren Heather, Catherine, Guinevere, Gavin, Clara and Stella; great-grandchildren Cohen, Logan and Lucia; step-mother Doris Rowan; sister Florence (Dwayne) Breaux; step-brother Everett (Gina) Gray; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Association in Pensacola, Florida or Northwest Ohio.
