Emilio was an avid fisherman. His favorite spots to fish were at Metzger's Marsh, the Maumee River and various fresh waters in Alaska. Emilio was an excellent cook who enjoyed trying different foods from around the world during his adventures. He was a family oriented person who enjoyed family cookouts. He will be remembered for his smile and contagious laughter. Emilio could make light of any situation with his jokes and humor.
Left to cherish Emilio's memory is his daughter, Alecia Ortega, mother Shirley Ortega, siblings; Emilio (Katina) Ortega, Tammy (Moises) Mauser, Bernadette (Lamphen) Lata, Emilio L. Ortega, Crystal (Marty) Self, Emilio J. Ortega, Tiffany (Nick) Fisher, Thalia Ortega, Janette Ortega, Emilio Ortega, and Nicole Ortega, step-daughter Sophia, numerous nieces and nephews, canine companions; Tito, Bigz and Teddy, Milton the goldfish and Spots the turtle.
The family will receive guests Friday, February 14, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
